Sometimes a meal can be made just but the service you receive. Our party of 4 came in for dinner the other night to Kuletos and our waiter Vinnie made the meal all the more enjoyable by being friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive without being overly intrusive. We never had to wait on anything, glasses were always refilled, we were informed when the entrees would be out and he offered some great suggestions about the menu. It's great to have this local forum to highlight this positive experience and let others know where to find good service that tends to be the exception rather than the norm.
Enjoyed Kuleto's smoked chicken pizza with basil pesto,
grilled fennel, roasted red peppers and mozzarella. Very delicious. Lots of other pizza varities as well.
I ate at Kuletos for a company Christmas party years ago and recently re-discovered it. It's still just as good as I remember. I've spent a good bit of time in Italy, and in my humble opinion, this is the most authentic Italian food on the peninsula. The calamari is a must! The pizza had that smokey taste you can only get with a real stone pizza oven. For my entree I had the salmon, which was excellent. Kuletos has a really nice old world charm with heavy furniture and wine bottles lining the walls. It kind of reminded me of the cozy type of Italian trattoria often built into old cellars with vaulted ceilings. The food was top rate, but the service was a bit slow. But I guess that just makes it even more authentically Italian.
Several years ago our company had our Holiday Party at Kuletos. The food and service was excellent. They have a very nice private room that is warm and comfortable. IIRC: We have about 20 people and we fit comfortably. It's a good location that's easy to find and they have lots of parking, including valet service.
Kuletos serves very good Italian dishes, and their seafood is excellent. Steaks, for an italian restaurant, is good, too. Their best dishes are the pastas and fish. There are lots of authentic italian dishes that would satisfy even the discerning home style Italian diner. Prices are moderate and appropriate for family outings.
Kuleto's of Burlingame is a great place to eat. The atmosphere is romantic and upscale. It is a good restaurant to take a date. The food is delicious and priced reasonably for the quality. May not be the place to take very young children.
